Studio Voltaire is one of the UK’s leading not-for-profit arts and education organisations, which since 1990 has been running from a Victorian former mission hall in Clapham. This venue has long been recognised for being an innovative hub of creativity; an artist-led space with on-site studios, workshops and exhibitions.
As a recent addition to Studio Voltaire's facilities, the already much-hyped Shoreditch restaurant and wine bar, Crispin, has set up a 50-cover residency in the space, led by Michael Miles. Lunch is available from Wednesday to Sunday, with dinner served from Wednesday to Saturday and a cafe open all day, too.
With a menu inspired by Modern European dining and British classics, which seeks to showcase the best produce from small-scale and independent producers across the UK, this is a must-visit for your next meal out - especially with foodie friends. But, if you're looking for somewhere special for an upcoming event, the team is more than au fait with hosting, too.
The space is incredibly versatile and can work for both private dining and events with a mix of indoor and outdoor areas. The overarching capacity is 400 people standing or up to 200 people seated, plus 50 in the garden outside. From weddings and working lunches, to canapes and drinks receptions, the team are well equipped to work with a whole spectrum of events, catered by Crispin. Take a look through the online events brochure and you'll find an example of both the seated menu and canape options. For a four-course dining experience, you can expect nibbles like Dusty Knuckle bread with brown butter, alongside stilton croquettes with pickled walnut ketchup. For starters, you could enjoy burrata with pumpkin, sage and balsamic, followed by mains like braised lamb, Jerusalem artichoke, anchovy mayo and mint, finished with brown butter cake, crème fraiche and spiced pear.
