Londoners are lucky; their city is brimming with unique venues. But, if you're looking for something truly special, design fans and history enthusiasts will be interested to hear about The William Morris Gallery. William Morris, the iconic 19th-century artist and designer, whose floral patterns are still so popular today, grew up in a stunning mansion in East London's Walthamstow. Today, this place is immortalised as a gallery and museum dedicated to him, and a beautiful place to host your next event.
Located about 15 minutes walk from the main tube station, the gallery has a great spot in up-and-coming Walthamstow, surrounded by buzzy boutiques and cafes. The Grade II Listed, Georgian building looks like a dolls house, boasting huge windows, a creamy facade and plenty of period details. Set within pretty Lloyd Park, it's a gorgeous venue option in both summer and winter.
There are four options to choose from when it comes to selecting your space. The Glasshouse is a modern extension on the ground floor with a more relaxed feel. The floor to ceiling glass panels offer lovely views over the park, while its capacity holds up to 90 people standing and 40 when seated for dinner.
You can find the stylish Story Lounge on the building's first floor with ornate wall panelling, ceiling cornicing and authentic wooden floors. Here, you can host up to 50 people and it's a gorgeous space for talks, brand presentations and marketing events.
The Acanthus can be found on the top floor in what was originally the servent's quarters. Its rounded shape makes it a unique place to enjoy a special dinner, birthday party or corporate event, with a capacity of 40 people standing or 20 seated. If you're looking for something much bigger, though, you can take over the entire building which has a capacity of up to 150 people for a seriously magical event.
