About The Windsor & Maidenhead Boat Company - The Georgian

The Windsor Maidenhead Boat Company offers a special concept for functions, parties and events, hosting your guests for drinks and dinner on the Thames. You’ll jump on board The Georgian, a smart, red, white and navy 30-metre cruiser with traditional wooden interiors at Maidenhead and from there, enjoy a boat ride fitting for your occasion.

Depending on the kind of event you’re looking to throw, the friendly, family-run team has created many options to suit all and are very happy to chat them through with potential clients. If organising a work party or team building, a breakfast meeting with tea, coffee and pastries works well, while a full day cruise includes the same with an additional two-course cold buffet and use of AV equipment. Evening parties – whether they be an office night out or birthday - run for three hours and include a welcome drink of Prosecco, hot buffet, BBQ or carvery and unlimited beer and wine, with a DJ to get the party started. Or, work with the in-house chef to create something unique – canapes, picnics and wedding breakfasts are all possible.

Alternatively, if you have a specific vision for your shindig and would like to organise catering yourself, you can hire the boat for up to four hours (additional hours can be arranged) and this includes all the staff too, so don’t worry, you won’t have to play at being captain. In the lead up to your booking, two people are invited to see the boat and enjoy a tasting menu (for a fee of £200), as well as discuss any other aspects for ensuring your event goes as smoothly as possible. Whether it be live music or even a magician, The Windsor Maidenhead Boat Company works with a long list of suppliers and is happy to help you find entertainment to bring your celebration to life.

Price Guarantee

The Windsor & Maidenhead Boat Company is committed to delivering an outstanding service and experience at a competitive price. The quotation that we send you is based on that commitment. This commitment also means that we promise to match prices with any other boat operators in either London, or the Upper Thames between Staines and Henley on Thames, based on a comparable service and experience. Comparable service conditions include, location, boat, catering, and other price offers within the quotation We do need you to supply via email, a copy of the quotation received from other boat operators so that we can implement our promise.

Cancellation Policy

2.1. Cancellation by you within 14 days before the booking date will result in full payment. Before this period, cancellation shall receive a refund of funds paid excluding the non-refundable deposit (non-refundable deposit does not apply to public daily cruise bookings). 2.2. Cancellation by Windsor & Maidenhead Boat Company will result in a full refund. 2.3. If we cannot sail due to adverse weather conditions or mechanical failure, we shall conduct the cruise tied up alongside if safe to do so. In this instance, WMBC will refund 50% of the boat cruise element and offer a 20% discount off the boat cruise element on a future cruise.

Catering

There are 3 tiers of buffet pricing: - Option 1 is included in the standard package - Option 2 is an addional £5 per person - Option 3 is an addional £12 per person There is also a formal dining option that is an addional £15 per person for 2 options or £20 per person for 3 options. Vegetarian, Gluten free and other dietary requirements are available on request prior to event.

AV Equipment

The georgain is fully equipment with a TV, sound system and microphone that you are more than welcome to use during your cruise for no addional cost. Just ask a member of the cruise to help set this up for you. Please note that any music or amplified sound including speeches will have to be stopped during the locks but will start again once we have completed the transit. (This is usually a good time to head to the bar)

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to you for such a brilliant evening on board The Georgian. Everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed the experience and if I could change one thing it would have been to have done it earlier in the year to make the most of the stunning views before twilight but that’s a great excuse to do it again. The service was exemplary, the food was hot and tasty and the atmosphere truly brilliant.

My husband and I booked to hold a special anniversary celebration on board the gorgeous boat, The Georgian. After months of planning we decided on hosting a sit down meal with a dj afterwards. Pre dinner drinks to be served on deck prior to this. From the moment we first started communicating with Gareth about our event right up to the final disembarkation, he couldn’t have been more helpful, adapting set menus and drinks packages to suit us, allowing me to use my own decor for the tables, and sharing our enthusiasm for this special family event. This added so much to our experience. The staff on Saturday were fabulous. They were unflappable and professional. The team were really good at putting everyone at ease and because of this my husband and I were able to enjoy ourselves from the off. Luckily the rain stopped for our guests to board in the dry and enjoy the Pimms and beers on deck before going below for their meal. The views along the Thames from Maidenhead to Windsor are glorious, and I think all 50 guests were planning to move into the amazing houses along the riverbank if their lottery numbers came up on Saturday! Below deck, there was much excitement as we sat down for dinner, and the food was complimented so many times by our guests that Gareth, who prepares all the food from scratch on board, must have had flaming hot ears! It is beautifully presented, everything is delicious….and the cake…just wow! After tucking in to our gourmet meal, we proceeded to dance and drink the night away. What fun! Thank you so much Gareth and the team, you made our wedding anniversary the event of the year! We had the best time. Hope to see you for another celebration in the future.

Anniversary Cruise

Family afternoon tea cruiseAUGUST, 2023

We visited a family of 40 for afternoon tea, ages 2 to 95 and had a wonderful afternoon tea. We didn't run out of food, sandwiches, scones and cakes were lovely. Lovely views of the Thames up to Windsor Castle. We had a bar on board. I would recommend.

A wonderful day out on the Thames. From the outset of making my enquiry to actually boarding 40 magistrate colleagues and friends, the staff were so helpful and obliging. The commentary on board as we cruised at a leisurely pace was excellent and our “fish and chips” lunch, with grilled halloumi and onion pasties as alternatives were thoroughly enjoyed by all. So many of my colleagues commented that we should do this every year! Very relaxing Sunday afternoon on the river.

Super Relaxed Wedding Party on this lovely boat. There were about 40 of us for a meal and boat trip following our wedding in Windsor. The owner Gareth showed us round a few weeks before and explained all the food and drink options. We also engaged his suggested Jazz Band who were brilliant and friendly. We went for a BBQ meal with various options, which was great.. The boat is well suited to UK weather having a large saloon under cover if it rains and an open deck on top where we were most of the time. In fact the weather was super hot all afternoon. All the guests commented afterwards on what a great day we had. Compared to other wedding venues the cost was very reasonable and the whole day was delightful and memorable. Christine's wedding cake was delicious. Being on a boat for a wedding was different and very enjoyable. Well done to Gareth, his father and crew.

What is the latest my party can go on for?

All cruises must be back by midnight at the latest and this will have to be arranged with the team and paid for as extra hours.

Yes - we do have some rules to make sure food hygeine standards are followed but you can arrage your own catering.

How late can events at The Windsor & Maidenhead Boat Company - The Georgian go on to?

We must finish our cruises by Midnight as that is when our licenes to operate ends. The Bar will close 30 minutes before the end of the event. The Georgain will moor 15 minutes before the end of your event. At the end of your hire time the music will stop. Guests are expected to have departed within 15 minutes of the end of your event. (Failure to leave the boat within 30 minutes of the end of your event will result in an additional £200 charge per half hour past the end of your event time)

No - there is no accommodation onboard however we can stop at Oakley Court Hotel, Monkey Island Hotel and Cliveden house. There are also a number of hotels local to our other departure points.
