Located on Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia, The Ninth is a laid back and dynamic neighbourhood restaurant ideal for hosting events and parties. The brand’s ethos revolves around elegantly simple French Mediterranean cuisine, showcasing the finest seasonal ingredients that are on offer. With over 30 years of expertise gleaned from prestigious London establishments like Le Gavroche, The Restaurant Marco Pierre White, and The Square, chef and owner Jun leads the kitchen with his incredible skill.
The Ninth opened its doors back in 2015, and earned a Michelin star in 2017. About his restaurant, Jun says “since we opened The Ninth in 2015 we have focused on prioritising our team and developing our culture. We believe in integrity, trust, mutual respect, teamwork and personal growth. We want every team member to find fulfilment in their work and be inspired. Our culture is the most important part of working at The Ninth.”
Menus are ever evolving but you can expect starters like spaghetti with bottarga, trout roe and monk's beard, along with baby artichokes in house ricotta and with a winter leaves salad. For your main, you may enjoy grilled lemon poussin with January king cabbage and red meat radish, or the chargrilled delica pumpkin with hazelnut dukkah and whey butter. For dessert, you'll be offered a selection of vanilla yoghurt paired with rhubarb and caramelised nuts, or the gruyere alpage cheese with biscuits. For dinner, you'll see snacks like crispy spiky artichoke with a three cornered leek aioli, and marinated sardines with a smoked cod roe. Starters are roast partridge with pickled autumn vegetables and tardivo, along with salted beef cheek and tongue with braised daikon and oxtail vinaigrette. For your main, enjoy roe deer in a salt crust with cavolo nero, hazelnut pesto and celeriac, or roast king oyster mushrooms with cauliflower and red wine jus.
