Ideally located along the high street, Robun strives to showcase the best of Japan has to offer, focusing primarily around the robata grill. The signature Yakiniku section of the menu sees meat, seafood and vegetables cooked over a traditional charcoal grill, so you can indulge in everything from wagyu beef sliders to miso marinated black cod. You can also tuck into various small plates (think chicken karaage and gyozas), as well as sushi options like salmon nigiri and tempura prawn roll - there’s something for everyone.
The menu makes a perfect choice for those visiting in groups, with the option to share a little bit of everything, but if you’d rather take the decision making out of the equation, there’s a Chef’s Table that can seat six to eight guests with a seven course tasting menu.
Alternatively, for those who are looking to visit with a slightly bigger party size, there’s the Kanagaki Suite that can host 16 seated and up to 50 standing. From here you can organise a number of bespoke experiences, including a cocktail masterclass, or whisky and sake pairings to go alongside your meal. For food, there’s both an omakase and celebration menu available, plus the tasting menu, that all provide a fine example of what Robun has to offer. The Kanagaki Suite can also be used for more corporate affairs, including meetings and training sessions.
Don’t forget to warm up your vocal chords before coming though, because there’s a karaoke room that shouldn’t be missed. Sing like nobody’s watching, and tuck into one of the food and drinks packages available that offers the perfect mix of Tokyo tapas and delicious cocktails.
No matter what the occasion, there’s always a good reason to head to Robun.
