The
Belgravia landmark,
The Goring, has royal connections dating back to its opening in 1910, often playing host to parties for the aristocracy of yore. These days, the family-owned five-star property has a handful of event spaces, all of which are charmingly decorated and well-appointed for both business and leisure. The place is also known for its good service and delicious food (we’re talking Michelin stars).
The Garden Room is the largest and offers access to your own private piece of the hotel’s handsome garden through its own conservatory. During
Christmas, a giant tree will be on display here, which is sure to infuse your guests with festive spirit. We’re thinking a nice reception in this room, or perhaps a mid-size meal.
If you’re looking to please your guests’ eyes as much as their bellies, The Drawing Room would be our best bet. With intricately woven wallpaper, a sophisticated, grand English country-house feel is immediately added – not bad for
Christmas. It’s also a more intimate space with room for up to 12. With floods of daylight and pretty chandeliers, it’s a nice spot for celebrations.
Still not intimate enough for you? The Silver Room – also with hand-woven wallpaper – is the spot. A fetching space for
private dinners, with a sparkling Edwardian chandelier, this is the place to enjoy Michelin-starred food.
