Christmas is all about giving back, right? Not just to loved ones, but to society and in turn the world in general. You can do just that at the Andaz Liverpool Street with its ‘31 Days of Giving’ campaign.
The campaign is run in partnership with (RED)®, the Aids prevention organisation set up by Bono and Bobby Shriver, and Wanderlust, a global yoga lifestyle company. Throughout December, the hotel will offer a number of (RED)-themed food and drinks, as well as yoga sessions, where a percentage of the proceedings will be donated to (RED). How about yoga with a side of red seaweed salad, a slice of red velvet cake or a red mulled wine?
The initiative kicked off on 1 December, coinciding with World Aids Day, with the first yoga session of the month. You can join the next 60-minute sessions either on Saturday 8 December at 12.45pm or Monday 17 December at 6.30pm. They are held in the hotel's Masonic Temple, cost £30pp and
you can sign up here.
Andaz really is all about giving this year, as on top of raising funds for (RED), the hotel is offering a rather lucrative present for you as well. Anyone who is involved in the ‘31 Days of Giving’ campaign, either by taking part in the Wanderlust sessions or purchasing one of the (RED)-themed F&B items throughout December, is automatically entered into a competition to win an overnight stay in the newly launched (Andaz)Red Suite.
Personally designed by Sir Terrence Conran, the suite opened in May this year, and features artwork by British photographer Rankin. A trendy juxtapose to the otherwise traditional-looking hotel, the suite is scattered with the likes of Eames lounge chairs and custom furniture. Other bespoke products on display in the suite will, in fact, be available for purchase, with profits going straight to the (RED) campaign.
In need of a little Christmas trim? Andaz has collaborated with (RED) partner Baxter of California and set up a grooming station in the hotel's lounge. Get a little spruce while 20% of proceedings goes to (RED).
If you just fancy spending the night in the (Andaz)Red Suite, 30% of the nightly room rate (£619) goes to support (RED)’s fight to end Aids.
Otto Steenbeek, general manager of Andaz, said: ‘The festive period is the ideal time to give back to the ones who need it the most. With so many initiatives taking place at the hotel, we’re giving our guests and local residents an opportunity to get involved and benefit the lives of others.’
