One of London’s most exclusive private members’ clubs, The Lansdowne Club is housed inside a historic grade II-listed building in Mayfair, dating back to 1973. Gather your friends and family to celebrate Christmas this year in one of its ornate spaces, with Christmas menus, decadent decorations and sparkling drinks all part of the package.
For those looking for a large Christmas venue to accommodate a lengthy guest list, look no further than its 18th-century Ballroom, a magnificent space boasting beautiful grand details and able to accommodate up to 150 guests. Originally designed by neoclassical architect Robert Adam as a library, the room has since been refurbished and now features 24-carat gold leaf vaulted ceilings, minstrel galleries and a balcony at one end of the room.
The Shelburne Room is a slightly smaller space that still grants Christmas parties with a sense of occasion. Ideal for 20 to 80 guests, this space comes with its own private anteroom and bar area where drinks and catering can be served.
The Lansdowne Christmas party package includes a 45-minute drinks reception in the Long Gallery, before sitting down to a three-course seated dinner followed by tea, coffee and mini mince pies. A carafe of house wine is included in the meal, while a DJ and disco will commence once dinner is over, and continue on until midnight. Of course, tables will be replete with Christmas crackers and festive table settings, while theming and lighting ensure the space becomes a magical wonderland for the evening.
There are three four-course Christmas menus to choose from. Starters might include a double-baked Montgomery cheddar cheese souffle, followed by seared salmon with truffled creamy leeks, pumpkin puree, seasonal vegetables, shallot mash and red wine jus. To finish, there is a chocolate and orange delice with Cointreau cream.
