Having bucked the trend of stuffy gentleman's clubs back in 1985, The Groucho shows no sign of slowing down, heading towards a membership of 5,000 from all over the world. The club prides itself on its bohemian laid backness, great food and unusual interiors, making it an excellent place for private dinners, events and parties. The best time to throw a party, one could argue, is Christmas. The club is well-versed in these festive shindigs, offering a range of options and packages from intimate lunch all the way up to winter blowout.
The most affordable package is the ‘All The Trimmings’ all-inclusive Christmas lunch. This includes room hire, a Christmas cocktail on arrival and three-course meal with unlimited house wine and beer. The more extravagant ‘Spoilt Brats’ package, meanwhile, swaps the cocktail for champagne and amps up the meal with Scottish roe deer instead of turkey.
In order of size, the rooms available are the Snooker Room (up to 18 guests), Mackintosh Room (up to 20 guests), Mary-Lou Room (up to 30 guests) and the Gennaro Room (up to 60 guests). Each can be booked for either Christmas lunch package.
The party package is better suited to a standing reception format, with unlimited house wine and beer and festive bowl food. The dishes include bang bang turkey salad, baked stuffed gnocchi and pan-fried Scottish salmon. The larger three rooms can be booked for this package, but with a larger capacity as guests are standing rather than sitting.
The Groucho Club is more than happy to offer a more bespoke option and there is a wider choice of rooms available for this. The club can cater for anything from an intimate private dinner to knees-up of up to 150. This is certainly a great place to host your Christmas party if you’re looking to impress and entertain your guest. The Groucho’s relaxed atmosphere and quirkiness are sure to put your guests at ease right away.
