While there’s no shortage of great Christmas party venues in London, few are more unique than The Curling Club. For those who don’t know, curling is a sport in which players slide ‘stones’ down an 'ice' lane at a target. The concept is similar to bowls or shuffleboard, but with the added fun of 'ice', making it the perfect festive activity! The venue has two different packages to choose from, ensuring you’ll find one that fits your specific event and budget. ‘Curls of Wisdom’ is the more affordable of the two. It includes welcome drinks on arrival, a dedicated curling sheet, two beers or glasses of wine each, a selection of mains and sides, an hour of curling and a table for three hours. ‘The Clean Sweep’, meanwhile, steps things up a bit. With this package, you still get the curling sheet, welcome drink, an hour of curling, mains and sides, but with the addition of sharing starters, all-inclusive beer, wine and soft drinks and the table for four hours instead of three.
The sharing starters are split into meat and meat-free grazing platters. The meaty one features King Peter ham, smoked coppa, house salami, Number 8 spicy sausage, honey, mixed kalamata olives, cornichons and sourdough crostini. The meat-free version, meanwhile, instead includes a charred vegan yoghurt flatbread, beetroot babaganoush, marinated peppers, hummus and olives.
