This rooftop conservatory is home to over 2,000 species of tropical plants (and a number of exotic fish). Its treetops are overlooked by the large Conservatory Terrace, while the Garden Room on level three offers a more contemporary space for festive drinks or a proper sit-down meal, with views that stretch far across the City of London.

This space will transport guests to feeling like they’re out in the great outdoors, despite the relative chilly temperatures outside. Verdant foliage cascades from walls to floors, creating a calm atmosphere that'll have you forgetting that you're still in the centre of London. Opportunities to celebrate Christmas in a tropical oasis don't present themselves very often in the northern hemisphere, and this beautiful, lush space is a popular Christmas party destination for groups of 150, all the way up to large corporate bashes of 650 plus.

The Barbican offers a variety of packages for festive visitors covering everything from mulled wine to your Christmas dinner. If you’d like to host Christmas at the Conservatory, then the good news is that there’s a talented brigade of chefs behind the scenes waiting to create your perfect menu, whether that means a standing reception with canapes or dinner and a dance. The standing reception package includes three hours of unlimited beer, soft drinks, wine and a welcome cocktail, finger food, a chef’s theatre station and a DJ. Dinner and dance packages include one hour of unlimited drinks, half a bottle of house wine per person, a three-course banqueting menu and a DJ.
