The responsibility of planning the office Christmas party is a big one and, let’s be honest, another evening of bowling or booking the local pub quiz isn’t exactly going to blow your colleagues away. A private dining experience on the 40th floor of the Gherkin with 360 views of the London skyline, however? Yup, that’ll do it. You probably know Searcys already; the small collection of luxurious champagne bars, restaurants and events spaces in London and beyond, but the Gherkin outpost offers something special thanks to its prime spot on the very top floor. Here, you’ll find the Helix restaurant and Iris bar, two individual spaces which can be brought together for a large party. These spaces can collectively cater for 260 people standing or 130 seated and have the unique benefit of the Gherkin’s huge, domed ceiling so that your employees can dine, dance and drink under the stars.

Searcys has put together a variety of packages to make organising your Christmas party easier. If you’re planning a drinks reception, there are three options (silver, gold and platinum) which include unlimited beers and wine with canapes and bowl food. If you’re happy to spend a little more, you could treat workers to an hour of free champagne, a larger selection of food and add a feasting station. Or, if opting for a full sit-down meal, the silver package will get you a welcome glass of sparkling wine, canapes, a three-course meal with half a bottle of wine per person, followed by tea, coffee and petit fours. While choosing platinum means guests will be welcomed with a whole hour of champagne and nibbles, with an extra cheese course added to the meal and espresso martinis to finish the night. Each party booking comes with your own events manager so that you can fine-tune the details, discuss entertainment and decorations, and ensure you have the appropriate staff, security and cloakroom facilities.
