Have you ever experienced an Italian Christmas? Whether the answer is yes or no, we think your colleagues would be all for enjoying a slice of Italia in December. Now, the Mediterranean sunshine might not be possible from London, but the cuisine and feel-good vibes certainly are. Cue Obicà, a unique Italian dining concept which celebrates the divine nature of the not-so-humble mozzarella ball.
The first Obicà opened back in Rome in 2004 and since then the group has expanded to the UK, US, all over Europe and even into Japan, holding the title of the first ever mozzarella bar in the world. The menu is, as you probably guessed, focused around Italian cuisine but particularly on Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP sourced from selected farms and dairies in Campania, and certified by the Consortium.
If looking to hire the venue for your Christmas do, you'll be privy to the restaurant's group dining menus which span everything from anti pasti and finger food to multiple-course sit down dinners. For example, the sharing menu includes delights such as a tasting session of five mozzarellas: mozzarella di bufala, smoked mozzarella di Bufala, stracciatella Pugliese, burrata Pugliese and ricotta di bufala, served with baby spinach, dates and walnuts. If you'd rather go for finger food, enjoy the likes of focaccia caprese with mozzarella, tomato and basil pesto; Scottish smoked salmon with fennel, parsley and anchovy dressing and toasted breadcrumbs; as well as ricotta di bufala cake with marron glacé caramel.
If a three-course meal is more your thing, we like the sound of 'The Iconic' menu which features a selections of mozzarellas to start; seabass with porcini mushrooms, roasted potatoes and datterini tomatoes confit for mains; and a classic tiramisu for dessert.
In terms of capacity, the restaurant is complied of two floors which you will have exclusive use of and can host 160 people standing and 110 when seated. You're welcome to play your own festive music and there's projector equipment available for any awards or games you might have in mind.
