We know that organising the Christmas party can be a bit of a drag. Where to find a venue with a cool vibe, central location and great food, eh? Luckily for you, Oba Kitchen & Bar in Leeds is totally up to the job and loves hosting private dining events - especially during the festive season.
The restaurant's concept is all about bringing together some of their favourite Asian flavours and making them more easily enjoyed by Leeds locals. Oba uses Japanese and Korean flavours and cooking techniques across the menu, offering an insight into the mix of earthy, often fermented tastes of Korea mixed with fresh, seasonal textures from Japan. The result is a well-curated and extensive collection of dishes that you and your friends will love.
It's worth noting that while Oba is the team's first restaurant of its kind, this is by no means their first rodeo. Previously, the founders started with an Asian food store, which you may have heard of, called Hang Sing Hong and actually, just next door you'll find Mi's Noodles which is also owned by the gang and serves up the best Chinese snacks.
In terms of the venue, the space has been designed with a modern feel and flair for design with clean lines and sleek colour palette. The mix of spaces makes it the perfect for a party and guests are invited to sit and enjoy the food, as well as socialise with a drink.
On the menu, there's absolutely loads to choose from. If your thing is sushi, then tuck into the likes of the Oba special rolls, the selection of sashimi or perhaps the chef's pick. For starters and smaller sharing dishes, get involved with the deep fried squid rings and gyozas, before moving on to mains like bibimbap, yaki soba and meat-based dishes like ginger pork belly.
