A vineyard might not be the most obvious British wedding venue, but there is indeed a beautiful vineyard hidden in the Essex countryside which offers couples a unique and fun option for where to host their special day.
If the weather plays ball you’re able to have your vows said among the vines themselves at West Street Vineyard, which is a really unusual, beautiful backdrop to one of the most important moments of your life. The neat green rows of the vineyard surround a simple pergola structure which guests can look onto from rows of wooden chairs decorated with your choice of florals, candles or ribbons. We especially like the wine barrels that top the aisle for a fun nod to the space’s wider purpose.
West Street Vineyard don’t offer wedding packages, preferring instead to work with each couple on a bespoke basis. This freedom allows full flexibility when it comes to how you want your day to look and feel. There is a wide choice of menus available and your wedding lead will be able to advise on all sorts of things, from bands and entertainment to florals and evening food.
If you and your other half are oenophiles (which we suspect you might be if you’re considering a vineyard for your big day) then you won’t be disappointed when it comes to the drinks options. West Street Wines offer their own wines to help you toast your special occasion, so you can choose from a selection of white, red and rose bottles with full advice provided by the friendly, knowledgeable team.
To give you an idea of the kinds of things you might see the chefs create for your wedding menu, the dinner line-up includes starters like toasted sourdough with fresh peas, broad beans and Parmesan or smoked chicken and lobster salad with watermelon and a dill dressing. For mains the kitchen might rustle up paprika roasted corn-fed chicken with saffron, olive and chorizo braised rice or roast cod with salsa verde.
