The Great Barn has been a part of the Place Barton estate for over 25 years. It's run by owners John and Emma, who moved to Devon from London in 1997 and never looked back.
The duo remains steadfast in their commitment to ensuring every single wedding at The Great Barn is memorable. Mostly, they always strive to ensure couples expeirence a fun preparation process and a relaxed, stress-free wedding day.
Emma is always happy to share her ideas and will curate a list of trusted contacts for you, including her 'Bride’s Bible'. Better yet, the events team is readily available to address queries and offer guidance on table layouts, menus, schedules, or any aspect of the event.
On the big day, the team is prepped and ready to ensure a seamless execution, allowing you to relax and remain confident that everything is in capable hands. The team strives to align with your ideas, plans, and timetable, allowing you to design the day exactly as you envision it. The Great Barn can seat up to 190 guests for the wedding feast and up to 250 guests for the evening reception. If you'd like to tie the knot here too, this magnificent space really comes into its own for ceremonies, with a vaulted oak roof, simple lime plastered walls and state of the art lighting. Should you wish to say 'I do' outside, you can do so in its pretty walled garden, with the bride entering through an ancient arched gate.
When it comes to the catering, there are a range of options to choose from, including delicious canapes, three-course meals and evening food. The Great Barn will supply drinks as well, but if you'd like to bring your own, you can do so for a fee per head.
