The Lake District is famed for its romance - from the iconic poets who lived here to the rolling views and atmospheric scenery. And so, if this is where you dream of tying the knot, you'll need a venue just as magical, like Silverholme Manor.
Built in 1820, Silverholme Manor has an almost mythical location, nestled right on the edge of Lake Windermere, benefitting from incredible views out over the water. Its dollhouse-like, period structure is Grade II Listed and would look picture-perfect in wedding photos. But, while Silverholme Manor boasts a long history, its 2013 renovation ensures that you have all the mod cons you might need. From underfloor heating to a Sonos sound system, the team have done everything they can to bring it into the 21st-century - including, quite impressively, going carbon neutral.
Many couples wonder about accommodation, especially when choosing a rural wedding venue, but Silverholme Manor has this in spades. Not only can the house itself accommodate up to 18 people - including a gorgeous Bridal Suite - the estate is home to a flurry of historic cottages which offer plenty more space for guests.
As for the capacity on the day, you're invited to welcome up to 200 of your friends and family to celebrate you here, hosted either in the main house, Coach House or outside in a marquee or tipi. There are three different spaces inside which you can take over for a civil ceremony or you could say 'I Do' against a backdrop of the lake with an outdoor humanist ceremony. And, for those who'd prefer a church wedding, the team has a list of seven local churches, too.
When it comes to food, catering in-house is not provided, but Silverholme works with a select number of caterers who they believe deliver the very best in local, seasonal food, and so they ask that you work with their preferred supplier list.
