If you're looking for somewhere unique and full of history to tie the knot in Birmingham, have you considered Selly Manor Museum? This incredible set of structures were built in the 14th century and would have been destroyed, but George Cadbury, of chocolate fame, bought, preserved and erected them in his picturesque Bournville village, where they have stood for over a century.
Couples are invited to say their 'I Dos' in the medieval cruck framed hall, Minworth Greaves, standing on the ancient flagstones and in front of a 400-year-old table. The day will start with a short interview with the registrar, while your family and friends are welcomed. You're invited to make the civil ceremony your own, including choosing favourite pieces of music, asking friends to share a reading or poem, or any kind of accompanying entertainment you might like.
Afterwards, the venue is happy to offer a complementary glass of fizz to you and your loved ones, to be enjoyed outside on the grass, surrounded by the pretty gardens and other buildings. In the heart of the famous garden village, you can be sure to get some gorgeous wedding photos and share some time with your friends and family. The team particularly suggest getting a snap with the flourishing fruit trees in spring!
You'll have the space for three hours and the team pride themselves on providing a friendly, warm service to all. So, from any questions you might have, to organising your booking, they'll be there for you. If you'd like to decorate the hall, floral installations are welcomed, simply just to the organisers about your thoughts and on the subject of flowers, real flower petal confetti is welcomed - but paper, glitter or other materials are not, as it's important the village stays litter free.
