Merriscourt is a countryside barn wedding venue which strives to embody the historic charm of the Cotswolds. Whether you’re a local or, like many, just mesmerised by this picturesque region, Merriscourt takes care to pay authentic homage to this special place.
Choosing Merriscourt is like getting three venues in one; the site comprises three barns, each unique in style and character, which are interlinked to create a natural flow between proceedings. Ceremonies are held in The Stone Barn, which as the name suggests, stands out because of its rustic, exposed stone walls and Cotswolds flagstone flooring. With a lofty, taped ceiling studded with wooden beams, it’s full of atmosphere and can be enhanced however you wish.
Once ‘I dos’ have been said and happy tears have been shed, it’s time to usher guests into the stylish Gallery for a drinks reception. This space has a vintage aesthetic with rich green walls, a chesterfield sofa and mounted taxidermy. Here, guests can enjoy cocktails, live music and canapes inside, or if the weather’s fine, throw open the doors to the courtyard and lawns, too.
Wedding breakfasts are held in The White Barn - a stunning space, flooded with light which reflects off the white walls, floors and tablecloths for a classic yet modern look. Hang a floral installation from the beams above, decorate the walls, add your own centrepieces; couples are invited to make the space their own.
While The Stone Barn and The Gallery have capacity for 150 guests, The White Barn can only seat 130 - so be sure to factor this into your guest list. As well as these three stunning spaces, couples have access to the surrounding 500 acres of Cotswolds countryside, and once the party gets going in the evening, The Stone Barn is repurposed as a dancefloor complete with disco ball - and no sound restrictions!
Merriscourt offers on-site catering which is prepared and cooked fresh on the day by the head chef and team. There is a plethora of options to suit your style of celebration starting with a classic three-court wedding breakfast with options to add canapes or additional courses and sharer courses such as pork belly or short rib of beef, on help-yourself boards.
