Originally built in the 18th century as a private house, Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa is a truly majestic venue which is located just outside Luton within a 1,065 acre estate that finds itself on the border of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
In fact, Luton Hoo is grand enough to even have the royal stamp of approval – during the early years of their long-lasting marriage, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh would sometimes celebrate their wedding anniversaries here. Today though, it’s all about the actual nuptials themselves, rather than anniversaries.
The manicured estate boasts two separate properties which both cater to weddings, namely Mansion House and Warren Weir. The former is a Grade I-listed space which harks back to another era and offers up truly jaw-dropping interiors. Mansion House is home to no less than 12 luxury wedding suites licensed for civil ceremonies, while a converted Russian Orthodox Chapel can also be found here. Weddings at Mansion House can be as intimate as a civil ceremony with just 20 guests, or as lavish as glamorous banquets and receptions for up to 120 people.
Alternatively, Warren Weir at Luton Hoo is a magical manor house which is found at the foot of the lake within Luton Hoo's expansive grounds. Surrounded by 1,000 acres of Capability Brown designed parkland and formal Italian gardens, the venue is not short on alfresco photo opportunities. Warren Weir is available to hire exclusively for weddings and on-site accommodation adds to the appeal – there are 84 bedrooms for your party to make use of.
Need more convincing? The promise of a myriad of leisure amenities such as an indoor swimming pool and snooker room should do the trick. There are plenty of practical touches too, including private parking, access to WiFi and a state-of-the-art gym for #WedShred workouts.
