Choosing a wedding venue can be difficult - after all, what setting can live up to being the best day of your life? Well, when it comes to Kensington Palace, you might say if it was good enough for Queen Victoria and Princess Diana, it's good enough for us. This stunning, historic building is set in the heart of London, and was built in the 1600s, designed by famous architect, Sir Christopher Wren.
Over the years Kensington Palace has been home to many royals, most recently the Prince and Princess of Wales, and now it can yours for the day, with four spaces available to hire for weddings and events. The largest space within the Palace is The King's Gallery with ruby-red walls, a stunning fireplace and majestic oil paintings. Here, you can host up to 110 people for a sit-down dinner or 170 for a drinks reception.
If you really want to take things up a level, consider adding The Orangery to your order of the day - a newly refurbished, incredibly beautiful building within the manicured Palace gardens. Built in 1704, its huge windows make this a very special space with capacity for 300 people in total, including facilties for wedding ceremonies. You can either hire The Orangery by itself or as well as another space, perhaps as an evening venue for dancing.
The Cupola Room is also a must-see with its decorated ceiling, gilded pillars and low hanging chandeliers. Full of luxury and glamour, your guests will no doubt be wowed. This space has capacity for 60 seated or 80 standing, and also works well with The Orangery. Finally, take a look at the King's Drawing Room, another scarlet-hued space with plenty of character and charm. Here, you can seat 90 of your nearest and dearest, and it also works well for wedding ceremonies.
