Somerset is famous for beautiful rolling hills and sweeping fields, so where better to head for a stunning countryside wedding? You’ll find historic Hestercombe Gardens nestled in a particularly lovely spot in between Taunton and the Quantock Hills, where it has been since at least 1249.
As well as hosting art installations, stunning light shows, live music and theatre, seminars, workshops and more, Hestercombe also hosts beautiful weddings - wedding parties here get full, exclusive access to Hestercombe’s magnificent fifty acre grounds, including three historic gardens and a wide range of locations for your wedding ceremony and reception, from cosy, intimate spaces to grand and spacious.
One of Hestercombe’s most popular ceremony spaces is the Lutyens-designed Orangery - a bright, spacious venue with huge windows and beautiful vistas that stretch southwards towards the Blackdown Hills. Larger ceremonies could head into the Main Hall, where the bride can enter via a dramatic staircase, or the elegant wood-panelled Dining Room. Alternatively, there’s the whitewashed stone walls of the Bampfylde Hall or you could have an al fresco wedding in the 18th century Temple Arbour, with guests arranged on the lawns in front.
Almost all of these spaces are available for receptions, drinks and wedding meals as well, and there are more outside spaces for garden parties too, including the stunning vistas of the Victorian Terrace, and the sweeping Orangery Lawns, which are perfect for a marquee wedding.
It’s fair to say, you’re spoilt for choice here. On top of that, Hestercombe’s kitchen and front of house teams are on-hand to tailor every aspect of your wedding, from menus and drinks to decoration, flowers, hair and makeup, outfitters and more. The team has decades of experience in planning weddings, so your special occasion couldn’t be in better hands.
