Hartnoll Hotel is in Tiverton, on the edge of Exmoor National Park in Devon. Originally a country house, it has been refurbished into a boutique-style hotel, offering 18 spacious and comfortable double en-suite rooms, as well as two suites.
The hotel’s rolling lawns and countryside setting mean it is an ideal wedding venue. Receptions and civil ceremonies of most sizes can be catered for in the four function rooms available for hire, each with its own unique characteristics. This includes the atrium with its large glass roof and the pergola, perfect for outdoor weddings. Maximum capacity is 100 guests for a civil ceremony and 250 for evening guests.
All weddings are planned with the help of a dedicated wedding coordinator and can be purchased in four packages: beautifully boutique, classically chic, simply stunning or delightfully Devon. These vary depending on the amount and type of alcohol and the food on offer. Delightfully Devon, for example, includes a traditional afternoon tea, while classically chic features a three course wedding breakfast.
You can create this menu by choosing one option per course from starters including celeriac and apple soup, mains like roasted sirloin of beef, and triple chocolate brownie or Eton mess for dessert. Packages are ultimately designed to act as a suggestion, meaning they can easily be tweaked to meet your exact plans for the big day.
The Hartnoll hotel also has a restaurant and spa. The former is open to both guests and visitors from breakfast to dinner, serving a regularly changing menu that responds to the seasonality of local ingredients. An example menu is Brixham scallops with an apricot and ginger chutney to start, pan roasted Creedy Carver duck breast with fondant potato for main, followed by mango and lime panna cotta for dessert.
