Harlestone Park is a purpose built wedding venue in the village of Harpole in Northampton, not far from Althorp House. Its acres of rolling green gardens make for an idyllic, distinctly English setting, resulting in a brilliant backdrop both for the day itself and the all important wedding photographs. The standout feature is the old stone bridge that crosses Harlestone’s lake, and there’s also plenty of photo opportunities to be had on the golf course, which wedding coordinators are more than happy to drive to to capture some truly unique memories.
Harlestone is licensed for civil ceremonies up to 100 guests. These take place in several rooms, each of which can then be customised to suit the couple’s style and tastes. The standout room overlooks the grounds, including a view directly over the lake and beyond. This also features a terrace, ideal for drinks once vows have been exchanged. Those opting for a religious ceremony are equally as welcome at Harlestone for the reception. St Andrew’s, the local church, is just a short walk away, and there are other churches equally conveniently located.
Wedding food options can take several forms. Canapes and nibbles are on offer to accompany the post-ceremony drinks, such as mini Yorkshire puddings, mini caprese bites or chicken tikka bites. As well as a traditional three course wedding breakfast featuring the likes of rump of lamb and double chocolate brownie, Harlestone can also offer afternoon tea, buffet barbeque or self-serve carvery for the main daytime round of food. A range of evening food options ensure the party can go long into the night, such as a finger buffet, homemade pizzas and grazing boards.
All weddings are planned alongside a member of Harlestone’s dedicated team. The result is truly bespoke days that are both memorable and a reflection of the couple’s exact wishes.
