DoubleTree by Hilton London Elstree is a hotel and wedding venue just outside Borehamwood in southern Hertfordshire. It’s well positioned for access to the A1, and also a short drive from both Elstree Studios and the Harry Potter Studio Tour. The DoubleTree brand made its name among Hilton’s many others thanks to its now legendary chocolate chip cookie. Baked daily and left as a welcome gift for guests, these were originally restricted to just VIPs, but are now available to all. In November, the DoubleTree brand of cookie even made history, becoming the first cookie baked in space aboard the ISS.
Weddings are typically hosted in the Dupont Suite. This holds up 210 guests on its own or 260 when combined with the Gate Suite. Its styling is stripped back and simple, resulting in no-frills and highly adaptable space to celebrate the big day. The couple can customise however they see fit, whether that’s table decorations, chair backings or wall backings.
A range of wedding packages help simplify the planning process by bundling up everything needed to ensure the wedding goes to plan. These vary in level depending on the needs of the couple, a further mark of DoubleTree by Hilton London Elstree’s flexible and bespoke approach to wedding planning and hosting. The wedding breakfast follows suit. Everything from a low key buffet to a traditional three course sit down meal are on offer.
Smaller weddings are equally as welcome as larger occasions. These are housed in one the hotel’s several other function rooms, many of which take their name from the famous directors that have graced the nearby film studios, including Henson, Kubrick, Hitchcock, and Lucas.
