Arthur Harris built Creeksea Place during the reign of Elizabeth 1st in 1569, and the estate remained in the family for five generations. Today, it is owned by the Bertorelli family, who have also called it home for five generations. The owners are passionate about continuing the task of restoring this beautiful house to its former glory, and enjoy welcoming the public to enjoy the history that the walls are proud to hold. The estate has been used for filming opportunities over time, with perhaps the best known being the BBC production of Great Expectations starring Stratford Johns. Eventually, the owners opened the house as a wedding venue that has gone from strength to strength in order to raise funds to help restore the house and grounds to their former glory.
Creeksea Place manor house really does look like something taken from a fairytale book when decorated for a wedding. This Tudor mansion has luscious gardens and natural lakes that add even more beauty to the backdrop of your big day. Creeksea Place is exclusively yours, providing you with a variety of settings to choose for your ceremony, including the walled garden, the orchard, the lake gazebo and the Regency and panelled rooms. You can say I do in many spots around the estate, and after sunset, the buildings are illuminated with spotlights, candles and burning torches.
The picturesque walled garden is enclosed by a traditional red brick wall and planted with magnolia trees, white roses and shrubbery, and your choice of musicians can get set up under the shaded canopy. As for your food, the chefs use only the best, fresh seasonal produce and are more than happy to tailor any menu to match your theme and personal taste.
