A golf club might not sounds like the most natural venue for a wedding but since they’re used to holding all sorts of events for members, they’re worth considering as a venue for your big day, even if you don’t know a bunker from a birdie.
Situated in the middle of the Essex countryside between Colchester and Halstead, Colne Valley golf club offers a personal service to all couples who choose it as their wedding venue. The club is used to holding conferences in its facilities and is equally adept at hosting weddings.
The club is situated between four historic Essex villages called The Colnes which date back to Celtic times and the River Colne itself flows on its gentle way through the grounds of the golf course, which look beautiful at any time of year, from the stunning colours of autumn to the blazing glory of midsummer, when the long nights can be enjoyed from the terrace.
Wedding celebrations at Colne Valley Golf Club cost approximately £5,500 for 60 guests; additional guests can be accommodated for £60 per person.
The price includes a welcome drink (prosecco, bucks fizz, fruit punch), three-course wedding breakfast, house table wine and a glass of Prosecco for the toasting wine, while the price includes the charge for room hire.
Chairs come with luxury covers while there are white linen napkins and cloths for the wedding breakfast and personalised name places and a seating plan.
Once the wedding breakfast has wrapped up, celebrations continue in the golf club’s Valley Room, which has a capacity for 300 guests who can boogie the night away to the sounds of the Colne Valley house disco. The evening supper menu (for up to 100 guests) can be designed according to the couple’s tastes and preferences.
T&Cs include a £1,000 non-returnable deposit when booking, and the remainder of the account must be paid five clear days in advance.
