In a super-convenient location near the A12 just south of Chelmsford (and only an hour from London), exclusive-hire Baddow Park House feels like your very own luxurious country-house estate, with the privacy and acres of grounds to match.
New owners Samantha and James Martin have created a fabulous private wedding venue, which re-opened in 2020 to offer unique and bespoke celebrations for every couple, whether your taste is for the quirky or the classical, a large-scale event or something more low-key and intimate.
As Baddow Park House is only available for exclusive hire, every aspect of the property can be tweaked to fit the individual vision of every couple, from the ceremony itself to the reception afterwards. Civil ceremonies can be held in the drawing room and blessings in the grounds.
Baddow Park House's catering and hospitality team begin preparations long before the big day itself. Ingredients are sourced locally from the finest Essex produce wherever possible then put to use in wedding menus which reflect each couple’s personal taste. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dietary requirements can all be accommodated to ensure that no one feels left out of the celebrations.
Once the wedding breakfast has finished, acres of parkland and manicured lawns and gardens give your guests the freedom to mingle and to find their own space. Entertainment can be held outside beneath a canopy of stars or, if the night turns chilly, inside in the house’s grand drawing room in front of an open fire and beneath a sparkling chandelier (imagine those lawns blanketed with snow for a winter wedding).
Six bedrooms and a bridal suite have views over the estate’s parkland and offer accommodation that’s every bit as luxurious as the rest of the property, boasting original period details and high-quality furnishings and finishes without any country-house stuffiness.
