YOPO is The Mandrake’s main restaurant and bar which serves innovative South American-inspired cuisine. Head chef George Scott-Toft leads the kitchen team, drawing inspiration from his travels to Argentina, Chile and Peru to build a selection of unique plates. For a snack alongside your drink of choice, choose from dishes such as guacamole with tomato salsa and corn chips, oysters with shallot and ancho chilli vinegar as well as a selection of cured meats and cheeses.
Onto the drinks, which includes a selection of red and white wine, beers and punches. The latter features a handful of obscure and innovative creations named after their country of origin. Mexico, for example, mixes tequila, strawberry, cactus blossom and Palo Santo while Venezuela blends rum, coconut, dill, pineapple and turmeric.
If you’re visiting during the day, the bar area also offers coffee, daily-prepared sandwiches and pastries made inhouse throughout the day to dine in or takeaway. Interiors are warmly lit and offer both counter and table seating. There’s a retro vibe that runs through the décor, with an art-deco-style bar, plush velvet stools, a large chandelier fixture and plenty of foliage and plant pots to reflect the theme of nature that runs throughout the rest of the hotel.
