With unmistakable minimal décor and communal tables, Wagamama Brighton is the perfect place to visit for a quick meal after a day exploring the lanes or chilling on the beach. Known for its casual Japanese dishes, expect to find hearty ramens, filling curries and simple but flavourful donburi rice bowls.
Starters are made for sharing at Wagamama so it makes sense to order a few to get a taste of what they have on offer. Go for the chilli squid, hirata steamed buns or a plate of its gyoza in your chosen flavour. Alongside this try one of its healthy juices like the positive juice, carrot juice or super green juice. If you don’t fancy a healthy juice however its selection of Japanese beers will accompany any meal perfectly.
On to mains and you really do have a lot to choose from. It makes sense to go for what they are best known for, ramens. With so many different flavour combinations to choose from including miso cod, chilli and prawn, chicken and beef you are sure to find one to suit your tastes. If you don’t fancy this warm and hearty dish however, why not opt for one of its curries? Go for the prawn raisukaree – a mild coconut curry with lots of fresh veg and rice. Or go for one of its classic katsu curries with chicken or if your vegan the vegatsu or yasai curry with sweet potato and aubergine is just as good.
To finish, although not typically known for its desserts, it’s always worth giving them at try. Incorporating traditional Asian flavours and ingredients into western desserts you can go for things like mango and matcha layer cake, white chocolate and matcha cheesecake or strawberry and yuzu ice cream.
