TOZI Counter is the latest addition to TOZI Grand Café in Battersea - a cafe bar serving focaccia sandwiches, pastries, coffee and aperitivo, inspired by Italian paninerias and aperitivo bars. From the expansive outdoor terrace, guests can take in a fantastic view of Battersea Power Station. Inside there's a double-height dining room and cafe, which is glass-fronted and decorated with wine bottles.
In the morning TOZI Counter offers coffee, pastries and breakfast items, as well as lunchtime focaccia sandwiches and antipasti plates. Sandwiches include the likes of a meatball baguette, aubergine parmigiana in focaccia and salt beef on rye bread. Meanwhile, there are classic pastries like almond croissants and cinnamon buns, but a particular speciality is the 'bomba’ doughnut, TOZI's version of a bomboloni - an Italian doughnut rolled in sugar and filled with flavoured Italian pastry cream. These can be enjoyed at a table or taken with you on your journey. There's also an ice cream cart laden with seasonal house-made gelatos, sorbets and boozy iced drinks.
In the evening, the space transforms into a chic wine and cicchetti bar, offering small plates and snack style food inspired by Venice's cicchetti and aperitivo bars. The menu features dishes such as zucchini fritti, veal and pork meatballs and a selection of Italian cheeses with pane carasau. The funky red bar serves a selection of Italian wine by the bottle or the glass, including orange wines and sparkling wines as well as offering various aperitivo and beautifully made cocktails.
TOZI Counter is attached to TOZI Grand Café, which is one of three TOZI restaurants, also found in London Victoria and Vondelpark, Amsterdam.
