Tian Di Restaurant Bude

Bude is a popular tourist town in north Cornwall, and while a good chunk of the food offering in and around the town is aimed at passing tourists, there are a few spots that are popular all year round with locals. Tian Di is one such spot - a popular Chinese restaurant in the centre of town that is often busy with a mixture of takeaways and diners eating in the restaurant.    The interior is tastefully decorated, but perhaps a little plain. Portraits adorn the white walls and a mixture of wooden and fabric dividers separate different areas of the restaurant, which is a nice touch. The restaurant isn't big, so it's worth booking in advance if you're hoping to eat-in - if you can't get a table, fear not, as Tian Di also offers takeaway and delivery.    The menu is as expansive as you'd expect of a Chinese restaurant - there are 20 items just in the appetisers section, and the menu boasts nearly 200 separate dishes available. Start off with the likes of crispy seaweed, pancake rolls, sesame prawn on toast, satay chicken and spare ribs, but remember to leave room for crispy aromatic duck and your favourite soups (all the classics are here, from won ton soup to chicken and sweetcorn).   Main dishes are split between beef, pork, duck, chicken and seafood, and Tian Di specialises in curry dishes as well, offering a selection of Thai curries. There are lots of vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu as well, including beancurd in Kung Po sauce, mixed vegetables with cashew nuts and stir fried beansprouts. Spice fans should flip the menu and check out the 'hot spicy dishes', which includes dishes like crispy shredded beef in sweet chilli sauce, and chicken in honey chilli sauce. If you have room for something sweet, grab a banana or pineapple fritter with golden syrup to finish.
