The Wine Cellar is an independent restaurant and bar located on Duke Street, Chelmsford.
Food is served at The Wine Cellar from Wednesday to Saturday, serving lunch from 12 noon until 2.30pm, and dinner from 6pm to 9pm. The bar is open from Wednesday to Saturday, from 11.30am until late.
The restaurant appears cosy and charming with plenty of rustic wooden tables and chairs, exposed brick work, candles and soft lighting.
Alongside an impressive wine list, you will also find a seasonal menu designed by in-house chef James Sargeant, plus a Saturday bottomless brunch menu.
The main menu is seasonal and subject to local availability, however you might find on the menu starters such as grilled mackerel with beetroot, horseradish and yoghurt, and house favourites such as bolognese bonbons served with truffle and parmesan.
Main dishes sound just as tempting, with a regular fish of the day, braised pork belly, steaks, and wild mushroom gnocchi. Desserts may include sticky toffee pudding served with butterscotch and chantilly cream, or perhaps you'll go for the warm chocolate brownie served with raspberry, ice cream and chocolate sauce.
