Located moments away from Newquay's famous Fistral Beach, The Terrace is a contemporary restaurant at the stunning, five-star Headland Hotel. Offering a less formal dining experience than the two other restaurants in the hotel, The Terrace offers a menu that takes its inspiration from the gorgeous coastline that is just a few steps away. Providing breath-taking views of the sea and a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere for you to enjoy your food in, The Terrace is great for all occasions, whether you're looking for a quick sandwich for lunch or a romantic evening meal.
The inside of the restaurant features floor to ceiling windows, which give the space a bright and airy feel while also ensuring that guests have wonderful sea views from their tables. Meanwhile wooden floors and simple décor only add to the modern feel of The Terrace. The spacious outdoor area is perfect for sunnier days and has comfy wicker furniture which looks out towards the beach, making it an idyllic al fresco dining spot.
The menu at The Terrace is made up of seasonal bistro classics and is focused around the use of local suppliers such as Philip Warren Butchers for the meat and Niles Bakery for the bread. Lunch options include a crab open sandwich and various antipasti boards, while you can also opt for a Cornish cream tea during the afternoon. More substantial dishes range from starters such as beetroot sea trout with a celeriac remoulade, and crispy beef with noodles to main course including moules marinière, steak and chips, and a cheeseburger. Irresistible desserts on offer include peach tarte tatin, and dark chocolate mousse with rum Chantilly.
An impressive drinks menu accompanied the food offering and features a number of different wines, which can all be ordered by either the glass or bottle, as well as a short selection of expertly made cocktails.
