There are many places in London where you can drink and dine with a view, but Kaso at One Hundred Shoreditch has got to be one of the most stylish. Located in East London this restaurant and terrace can be found on the top floor of the independent hotel and offers panoramic views of London . This project blends the vibrancy of this part of the capital with the relaxed Mediterranean approach with an Eastern Mediterranean restaurant serving mezze plates from renowned chef Ilknur Celik.
The rooftop at One Hundred Shoreditch where Kaso is located is endlessly stylish and modern. Comprised of both an indoor and outdoor area the pink-hued tiling that lines the space is complemented by the abundance of green plants that are dotted around creating an elegant and comfortable atmosphere. The stand-out feature is, of course, the outdoor terrace boasting panoramic views of the capital and featuring live DJs on Fridays and Saturday nights. This makes the venue the perfect place for special occasions, and it is available to hire for parties and events.
Kaso’s menu is heavily inspired by Celik’s upbringing in Istanbul, and she brings the influence of these flavours and cultures together with a hot and cold mezze menu. This features ever-popular dishes like muhammara, baba ghanoush, and tabbouleh as well as more substantial plates like their grilled octopus with samphire, sumac calves' liver with potatoes, and lamb cutlets served with pistachios, fig salsa, and roast grapes.
The desserts are equally as enticing with an indulgent chocolate cake served with a cherry and raki sorbet as well as muhallebi with pistachio and Greek mastic and a semolina helva ice cream. The Eastern Mediterranean influence extends to the drink's menu which features refreshing and inventive cocktails like their Sundown Date cocktail made with pineapple, honey liqueur, and date syrup. Guests are also treated to a taste of the med with the selection of wines and beers from across the region.
Note that the outside terrace cannot be booked and tables are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
