The Restaurant at Porth Beach Hotel, Newquay, sits in an enviable position enjoying stunning views over the beautiful coastline and golden sands of Porth Beach. You will find both a restaurant and a beach view bar at this venue, both of which offer a warm welcome, serving a selection of local dishes and tipples.
Kick things off with a chilled glass of Camel Valley sparkling wine, or a refreshing Cornish craft beer. The tasting menu has been designed by resident chef and former MasterChef contestant Andrew Durham. Andrew uses a selection of fresh, quality Cornish produce to craft his globally-inspired dishes.
If you’re looking for a light dish or snack you will find many small plates served such as wild mushroom arancini with black garlic, Porthilly oyster with apple, cucumber and dill, and a delicious looking Cornish crab steam bun served with red curry mayo.
Starters include lobster and confit tomatoes served with a Thai basil and tom yum consume, and sea trout mi cuit, chicharron, wasabi and ponzu.
Main dishes are all served with daily changing seasonal sides, which are hand picked by Chef Andrew, from the morning market. You will find a selection of quality local dishes such as rack of coastal lamb served with a balsamic mint jus and fresh local lobster served with a lobster and lemongrass sauce. You will also find Newquay harbour fish of the day served with a mussel velouté.
