About

Established 50 years ago, The Rajdoot has certainly seen changes in London’s Indian restaurant scene. Its extensive curry house menu incorporates some of the developments over the past half century, so in addition to ‘old time favourites’ (the usual Madras, kormas and vindaloos) there’s a section devoted to baltis and another to tandooris: order the mixed grill for a platter of chicken and lamb tikka, seekh kebab and tandoori chicken, served with a naan. A burst of regional authenticity is provided by shatkora gosht, using the citric calamansi fruit popular in Bangladeshi cookery. Otherwise, you’ll find various chef’s specials including a lobster cooked with fresh herbs, plus a decent choice of vegetable side dishes (aubergine with mushrooms being one of the more unusual). The restaurant occupies a cosy little corner site, and there’s even outdoor seating for those Indian summer nights.

Great restaurant!
This is a little gem in London. Went out with colleagues before and it is always a recommendation to go back. Food was delicious as always at a reasonable price. The staff were very attentive to our needs.
