About

The inn derives its name from the historic gate that once served as the entrance to Leeds Castle Park during the mid-nineteenth century. With Leeds Castle having been a residence for royalty, nobility, and gentry for over a millennium, the adjacent Park Gate served as a humble hamlet. The Park Gate Inn is a charming and welcoming pub, anchored by a 16th-century structure at its heart, catering to the needs of the local community in the bygone era.

Whether your heart desires a delectable sandwich, a light snack, classic pub fare, or a comforting Sunday roast, you can savour your meal while taking in the serene views on warm summer days. As winter's chill sets in, the pub's cosy interior, complete with inviting log fires, beckons you to partake in heartwarming dishes that have made The Park Gate Inn a cherished establishment.

For those seeking quality time with loved ones amidst the backdrop of the breathtaking countryside, this is the perfect getaway. The menu is a treasure trove of hearty classics and beloved country pub dishes, with seasonal surprises for those in search of unique flavours. Your visit will be complemented by a well-stocked bar, offering an array of beverages, including cask ales, lagers, fine wines, British gins, and an assortment of soft drinks to cater to every palate. These delightful beverages are best enjoyed in the enchanting and picturesque gardens of the pub, enhancing your overall dining experience.

Delve into the ever-evolving seasonal menus, available from Monday to Saturday, as well as the all-day menu at The Park Gate Inn. The restaurant's culinary team crafts a diverse selection of new and enticing dishes that capture the essence of each season. From the fresh smoked mackerel pâté to the summery strawberry bellini trifle, you'll find a range of delectable choices to suit your preferences. While you make your dining selections, why not enhance the experience by ordering a selection of mixed olives, stone-baked garlic flatbread, or artisan sourdough bread accompanied by olive oil and balsamic vinegar for the table.

friendly service and cheerful. Relaxed atmosphere which we like.

Food was very tasty but have been a few times over the last few months and the menu hasn't changed.

Soda and lime over £3.00 so a little expensive for drinks. Half a lemonade was more expensive than half bitter shandy.

Disappointing Experience

Information regarding booking differed between what we were told in the Restaurant and what we found on line.

The service was slow and much of the food was cold.  Many of the portions were so large they could not be finished.  Despite relaying the information to the waitress about cold food no adjustment was made to the bill.

We asked for those of us having coffee instead of dessert to have the coffee served as the same time as those of us having dessert.  Despite this the coffees arrived when the desserts had been finished.

At a nearby table a small child was being encouraged by the accompanying adults to make as much noise as possible.  Again no action was taken by staff.

We will not be repeating our visit.
