Enjoyable food, but wasn't made to feel special.
Difficult times for all Restaurateurs I know, but desperately missing front of house skills that make one feel special. My wife and I came to love this restaurant to the point we were, I believe, the first people to have our wedding reception here, and it was pretty much superb. But then we had several FOH staff (regular staff, not just parachuted in for the event) that made 70 people feel special. It must be difficult to be a great Chef and a great FOH specialist at the same time. Don't just plonk an expensive open bottle of wine on the table and walk off. Do show the label and offer the taste, then poor a little in each glass. It may be theatre, but it's very basic theatre, and, essentially, that's what front of house is all about. Disappointed. Sorry Adrian, but I hope you will take this critique constructively.
