A fan of whimsy and fairy tales? Take a trip down the rabbit’s hole and step into an enchanting establishment that is a fusion of delicious delights for you to eat, tempting vessels to drink out of, and plenty of exhilarating entertainment to captivate, – including karaoke chambers for belting out tunes or taking part in the scones and songs offering. Just surrender to the magic and pay a visit to The Mad Hatter for a spectacular day out in Oxford.
The menu begins with starters and sides. Try the polpette di melanzane, which is a dish of aubergine discs with garlic, parsley, fior di latte, pecorino, black pepper and panko breadcrumbs, or the chicken wings that have been flame grilled with a mesquite flavoured glaze. For your main, why not try the Alice burger, made with a soya based vegan patty, topped with caramelised onions, lettuce, dill, a beef tomato and vegan cheese. Pizzas are 12 inches and made with fresh, handmade dough, and there are a variety of toppings, including the curious chicken with mozzarella, harissa chicken, roquito pearls, black olives and red onion.
Scones and songs is The Mad Hatter's take on a bottomless brunch. Here, you will be served an afternoon tea with plenty of sandwiches, savoury tarts and pastries, a range of sweet treats, scones with clotted cream and jam, and a teapot of cocktail to share. All this whilst having the use of a karaoke room for 90 minutes. Some of the sandwiches may include the prosciutto and rocket or falafel and hummus. The tipsy teapot to share could include the Tweedledee made with Grey Goose vodka, Briottet Creme à La Fraise Des Bois Liqueur, with cranberry juice, lime and raspberry syrup.
