This themed bar is the work of Camm & Hooper (the group behind Tanner & Co and Victorian Bathhouse) and the first floor of its giddy six-storey offering on Soho Square. Describing itself as an ‘enticing journey back to yesteryear’ with ‘a Victorian vibe’ and elements of ’the smoky lounges of America’s Prohibition era’, to our mind all of these overlapping themes are more compellingly executed elsewhere (Victorian whimsy at Mr. Fogg's, for instance). The Lobby Bar and restaurant The Parlour above it are open daily to punters, while the other four floors can be reserved for launches, parties and private dining. At this ground-floor bar, expect ‘weird and wonderful’ infusions from the cocktail list. On our visit, a Burnt Toffee Old Fashioned was fine, if not wonderful, while the Quince and Blue Cheese Martini failed to impress. Elsewhere on the vivid drinks list you’ll find classic cocktails, punches to share, vintage sparklers and wines starting at £25.
