The Little Scarlet Door is the fourth site to open from The Little Door & Co, joining its west London sister sites The Little Blue Door in Fulham, The Little Yellow Door in Notting Hill and The Little Orange Door in Clapham. The group is famed for its house party-inspired bars, with décor inspired by a student flat – we're talking sofas and coffee tables in the ‘living room’, discos in the kitchen and good vibes all night long.
Located in Soho, The Little Scarlet Door is set across two floors on Greek Street, and the first central London location for the group. The interiors are slightly different to its counterparts, however, with the décor offering an open plan layout and metropolitan feel to mimic the style of a New York style apartment. Expect exposed brickwork, raw plaster, concrete flooring and industrial fittings, plush upholstery and a colour scheme of reds, pinks, greens and neon. The entrance to the bar is indicated by a single scarlet door (go figure), and inside features all the areas one would expect to find in a home, from a bar in the guise of a kitchen, a living room, laundry room and a number of breakaway areas.
Live DJ sets bring the house party vibe from Wednesday to Saturday, whilst drinks come in the form of sharing cocktails served from the kitchen in vases and mixing bowls such as the Dirty Dancing (Reyka vodka, Passoa, Chambord, passionfruit and Prosecco, which comes served in a disco ball). The cocktail menu is enclosed in the flat’s shared diary and photo albums and features creations such as Bohemian Rhapsody (El Jimador tequila, mezcal, Martini Ambrato, Aperol and apricot).
If you’re after a couple of nibbles, bar food and light bites include charcuterie boards, mezze plates, teriyaki wings and feta stuffed peppers. Whilst a selection of artisan house toasties is also available featuring the likes of three cheeses with caramelised onion chutney or a truffle cheese steak with brie and rocket.
