What sets The Kitchen at Chewton Glen apart is their commitment to freshness, with their own kitchen garden just steps away from the restaurant. Here, amidst raised beds and a greenhouse, the team cultivate a variety of herbs and vegetables year round, ensuring that the very essence of their dishes are rooted in the garden to plate philosophy.
Nibbles include The Kitchen pickle pot, which contains olives, caperberries, cornichons, sunblush tomato and pickled onions, along with roasted mixed nuts with sea salt. Starters include the wild mushroom arancini with truffle Madeira mayonnaise and 24-month parmesan, spiced beetroot purée with baked heritage vegetables and watercress, and salt and pepper squid with aioli and red pepper jam. Main dishes include the mungbean and cauliflower tarka dhal with pomegranate, scented pilau rice, poppadums and chutneys, along with a catch of the day served with seasonal vegetables, lemon and Winchester watercress. There are also a wide range of grill options, a sharing bone-in striploin, pizzas and delicious sides.
