The Jolly Farmer is a family friendly pub, with both indoor seating and an outdoor terrace. The outdoor tables are largely covered-over making it a nice place to eat or drink all-year-round.
The menu includes many British and French inspired dishes. Perhaps you will kick things off with some nibbles and an aperitif whilst you peruse the starters which include lots of tempting sounding dishes such as potted Cornish crab served with prawn butter and sourdough toast, and a Moroccan mezze platter which is served with houmous and flatbreads.
Main courses include a free-range Cornish beef burger served with all the trimmings, and a roasted halibut steak on the bone served with Champagne sauce and caviar. You will also find a good selection of grass-fed matured steaks, steak frites, and a chateaubriand for two. There are lots of sides to choose from such as skinny sweet potato fries, smooth mash and buttered greens.
Desserts include sticky toffee pudding, rhubarb crumble, and a pistachio souffle served with rich chocolate ice cream. There is also a seasonal French and English cheeseboard, coffee and truffles.
There is a large, good quality wine list available, as well as a selection of beers, ciders, spirits and cocktails.
