The Joiners Arms is a home-feel pub that serves a great range of wines, beers and spirits, along with great home cooked meals and woodfired pizza. Located on Church Road in Derby, you'll find a great meal not too far from main roads.
Why not start your meal with soft and fluffy bao buns, the yakitori sticks or bang bang chicken with a blend of secret spices, coriander, red chillies and sesame seeds. Then there are the gyozas, with options for prawn, chicken and vegetable. The garlic camembert is perfect for two to share, as is the chilli garlic bread. If you're visiting at lunchtime, you may prefer a sandwich to a heavy meal. Try the open gorgonzola steak sandwich with flamed strips of fillet beef in a paprika and gorgonzola sauce, whilst Spanish onions sit against the chargrilled bloomer. The cod bun is a posh take on a fish finger sandwich, with freedom battered cod fillets, baby gem lettuce, tartare sauce, mushy peas and a squeeze of lemon juice in a pretzel bun. Some of the main menu classics include the beef yakisoba with fillet pieces, soy, honey and hoisin sauce, mixed peppers and Spanish onions, along with broccoli, spring onions and pickles. The potato gnocchi is made with sauteed cup mushrooms, spinach and double cream, and topped with pea shoots and truffle oil. Veggies will love the green lentil dahl with mango chutney, along with the mushroom stroganoff.
Never forget about dessert, especially with so many delicious options on offer. There's the gelato sandwich with homemade gelato squashed between two homemade chocolate chip cookies, the dessert yakitori sticks, and apple gyozas with cinnamon sugar and a salted caramel dipping pot. The creme brulee and Bailey's sticky toffee pudding are more traditional desserts, as is the giant cookie and several options of ice cream sundaes.
