The Harrison is something of a free spirit – a handsome local boozer on a quiet residential side street. Inside, wood floors & comfy sofas add to the welcoming vibe & create a real home-from-home feel. The menu is as comfortable & comforting as the place itself: kick off with cheesy parsley & garlic bread ahead of a generous plate of beer-battered haddock & chips or braised lamb shank with celeriac & leek mash. To drink, there’s a big choice of lagers & draught beers, from Staropramen to Timothy Taylor Landlord, plus a decent selection of bottled stuff. On Sundays, cult folk music sessions pull in fans from much further afield, & The Harrison also sports four bijou bedrooms upstairs – definitely an inn for our times.
