A hidden gem tucked away from the hustle & bustle of Balham High Street, this community focused, dog friendly pub is one of Balham’s best kept secrets.
This stunning example of Victorian architecture has stood in the famous Nightingale triangle since 1877. The interior design is inspired by this decadent period, when the scandalous Victorians lorded over the largest Empire in history, and Balham was resident to many of London’s most notable characters.
Our modern twist on the traditional architecture is evidenced with sparkling chandeliers, a roaring open fire and sumptuous leather sofas. The bar offers a wide selection of spirits, including contemporary gins, rums and whiskies, , an expertly compiled wine list and a selection of real ales.
When you’ve found your tipple, venture further back past our semi private Florence Room, to our exquisite restaurant, bathed in sunlight through our glass ceiling. Dine in style in one of our eight-seater booths.
Peckish? Our talented new Head Chef, Mikey will serve you up one of our seasonal ‘best of British’ dishes. Local favourites include a hearty seafood chowder served with sourdough toast, steak and Young’s ale short crust pie, and the ever popular Sunday roasts. As well as our main menu dishes we also have a range of bar snacks, including homemade sausage rolls, & melt in the mouth honey mustard sausages – perfect for sharing, or keeping all to yourself!
