London-based coffee shop The Gentleman Baristas' flagship store in Piccadilly is its 10th site since opening on Union Street in 2014. It’s the biggest of the lot with 56 seat covers, offering an all-day brunch menu along with their sustainably-sourced, hand-roasted coffee by the mugful.
It might be more spacious than the rest of its outlets, but the flagship store promises cosy interiors, bare brick walls and friendly ambience that’s helped sky-rocket the company to fame in the capital. Customers can take refuge from one of the busiest spots in London with a pit-stop cuppa or satisfying brunch at the welcoming café.
The menu at the Piccadilly joint is notably more extensive than at its other sites. Breakfast is a separate affair, served between 7-11am, and includes dippy eggs with marmite soldiers and oat milk porridge with all the toppings. There’s even a dedicated section to breakfast buns, ranging from cheese and tomato croissants and halloumi and egg buns. Sweet and savoury pastries and light bites are all sourced from the local Chestnut Bakery if you're looking to grab a coffee and a croissant to go.
Brunch is an all-day affair and features a wealth of comforting favourites, including a crumpet stack with slow-cooked beef and hollandaise, loaded banana bread with yoghurt and berries, a veggie breakfast hash and banoffee French toast. All come in at under £10, which (let's be honest) is a steal for central London.
There’s also a late-lunch offering, served between 11am-18:30pm, where you can grab a deep-fried chicken bun along with a selection of sandwiches for the reasonable price of £6.
You can also pick up a bag of its hand-roasted beans or ground coffee while you’re in town, which they supply wholesale to pubs, cafes and restaurants across the country.
