Since opening their first coffee shop on Union Street in 2014, The Gentlemen Baristas have become something of a household name – well, in London that is. With 10 sites peppered all over the capital and its very own roastery in the heart of East London, its mission is to provide superb coffee in an inspiring meeting place that allows London’s modern day visionaries to come together.
For the folks who work, live or are simply passing through lovely Mayfair, The Gentleman Baristas is situated on Bruton Place, just around the corner from Berkley Square. In a similar style to its other outlets, the all-day cafe is designed with a traditional London coffee house in mind, boasting snug wooden interiors perfect for curling up with a hot drink. There are also plenty of pot plants, famous prints on the walls and, of course, the rich, roasted smell of freshly ground coffee as you walk through the door. Stop by for a quick pitstop on your way to work, sample the breakfast menu with a friend or simply pop in for a flat white and a chat with the friendly staff.
From the counter, guests can order a selection of pastries sourced from the local Chestnut Bakery, including savoury and vegan options. While for something more substantial, there's an all-day brunch menu that features a host of embellished classics, including homemade granola with yoghurt and fruit, loaded banana bread, smashed avocado on sourdough and Cacklebean scrambled eggs with sriracha mayo on ciabatta.
All coffee beans are sustainably sourced from independent producers across the world, before being hand-roasted at the company’s London roastery. It also supplies wholesale coffee to cafes, pubs and restaurants across the country, so don’t be surprised if you find a bag of their roasted-to-order beans on a counter near you.
