With Snow’s on the Green and The Swan at Southrop already under their belts, Sebastian and Lana Snow are now turning heads at The Five Alls – a great-looking, Cotswold-stone hostelry with a suntrap garden out back. Flagstone floors, mismatched antique furniture, contemporary art and sparkly chandeliers provide a charming backdrop for a pint, but you’d be missing a treat if you didn’t try Sebastian’s ‘turf to table’ cooking. The menu has its share of gussied-up pub classics (steak and kidney pie, fish and chips, etc), but there are also some delicious reminders of Sebastian’s high-rolling London days – witness open ravioli of crab, coconut, salt cod and chilli or char-grilled lamb ‘gigot’ steak with garlic roasties and salsa verde. To finish, enjoy a perfectly executed summer pudding or baked Alaska. With a decent selection of international wines, this is “the whole package”.
